Description

Every month we host a live curriculum workshop with community members and friends to talk about themes and create curriculum: https://learning.mozilla.org/community/curriculum-workshop We want to host a live show during Mozfest that is a mix of showcasing what curriculum people are building while at the event and some live curriculum development on the spot with attendees. So people will learn and make curriculum in a fun way which connects both attendees and external viewers.

Agenda

We envision a room and a video set-up that will allow us to record the space. In the space we will have some seats for viewers and some seats for our special guests. We would do some discussions and share-outs on what has been done, as well as what we can produce live for our audience. We see the workshop living on the web for attendees and non-attendees to view and see the stories of what happens at Mozfest.

We will also plan special "take-over" episodes to broadcast from the festival featuring special guests (such as the Mozilla Foundation production team, perhaps) and curators of festival content.

Participants

Less is quieter and let's us film some quality work. More means it's chaotic and captures the beauty of mozfest. The purpose of the documenting is to be shared afterwards so we don't need lots of people to join us. And if many do, we will put them to work building curriculum.

Outcome

Well we can only start the curriculum building at Mozfest. The hopes afterwards with all our live calls is that our speakers and community members continue using the work to strengthen their projects and collaborations. Of course we store the data, github the curriculum, expand upon it in some ways and save the workshop to our learning.mozilla.org page for others to see.

Another idea for the workshop is we have different attendees come and pitch their ideas for what curriculum to build as a group, we vote on one and a bunch of us hack on it together!

Hey @mattdigitalme @amirad not sure why this ended up w/ other labels beside Demystify, but since it was the primary space, we've been considering it for ours. I want to confirm that this session will be in the Demystify space not badges. If that's a problem, we can work it out.

@mattdigitalme @amirad I'm removing the badges label so this lands in demystify (it's primary space)
