Description
Short description:
Create a board game that illustrates the challenges of first-time smartphones users. Think of monopoly or other plateau games, and illustrate things like:
Visiting a certain number of web pages per day on a data-budget
Face network connectivity difficulties
Deal with a lack of money while participating in the mobile economy
*e.g. You might not be able to buy data, because maybe you also need to pay your school fees.
How is it participatory? What does your audience do?
Depending on number of people, form 1 or more groups
Discuss the given case studies and design challenges
Make a game together!
Agenda
Choose a game concept
Develop the content
Test and play !
Participants
Small group will lead everyone to work together, big crowd will lead to big brainstorm followed by small groups working together.
Outcome
They will have picked up on:
Different ways to communicate with each others. What we teach to facilitators can also be applied in our professional lives. Can we communicate a research report through a board game?
Can you build an advocacy campaign based on a game?
This will be easily re-mixable to other topics, and basically anything that needs an interesting story telling and immersion.
