Description
We'll use the power and flexibility of chibitronics, a paper-oriented circuitry kit, to create comics with something more!
We'll learn about comics as a medium, its structure and ways. We'll explore improv creation of art so that everyone is able to craft their own comics regardless of drawing skills.
Through the user of chibitronics kits we'll enhance our comics, super heroines will have the power of LEDs, cars will rumble, etc.
Chibitronics are an easy way to learn about electronics, it is as easy as using stickers and tape.
Comics and Chibitronics are made for each other, our session will allow people to learn both about comics and about electronics!
Agenda
This works with a hands-on and participatory approach to making comics. Each participant will produce their on comic and can even work as a group or pair if they want.
We begin exploring comics as a medium and then electronics as a way to spice up the comics.
In the end, they will keep their own creations.
Participants
We'll pack enough stationary tools and chibitronics for a sisable group but if we end up with more people then we'll split them into groups.
Outcome
Besides having an awesome comic to show their friends, we hope to inspire the participants to keep producing their own comics and exploring electronics on their own.
They will have a new understanding about comics as a medium and we think chibitronics will inspire them to pursuit a maker spirit and craft their own circuitry in the future.
