Description

Workshop will explain to attendees the benefits of operating your internet traffic within a VPN and how to use a Raspberry Pi on your home network to create your own! We'll link our Pis to the network, install the right libraries and software and set up a VPN on the spot! No more unencrypted internet traffic at Starbucks!

Agenda

20-odd raspberry pis, Internet access via WiFi to install required software. When finished, students can keep their SD cards for use at home (with a little recalibrating for their own home networks)

Participants

We regularly teach classes of up to 32 students in schools, and 25 on our camps, so it shouldn't be an issue. All our staff are trained and practiced in Classroom management (except Seth, he's only 15 and still at school!)

Outcome

Provide instructions for how to set up the VPN at home for attendees to access through our website. Offer attendees discount codes for our future courses during school holidays.
