Description

Through the power of Virtual reality, I will guide visitors on a tour of our solar system. From the moons of Jupiter, to the dust in our Oort cloud. Visitors will be immersed in space, needing nothing more than a Smartphone (not provided) and google cardboard headset (provided). The grand tour will consist of visiting every major object in our solar system, and finishing with a quick overview of our galaxy, and the relatively infinite universe beyond. Set to relaxing music, this educational experience will amaze, wow and educate the audience. Along with the hundreds of facts, millions of planets, and trillions of stars, I hope this workshop will inspire more young children to learn about space.

Agenda

10 mins set up time. Visitors MUST bring their own smartphone devices. I will provide VR headsets. Once the experience begins, lights will be dimmed, and the VR video stream will begin. The stream is a 360 4K video streamed to an app available on any Android or Apple device from my local computer, allowing me to interact with what visitors see live. Along with this, I will talk through everything the visitors see, acting as their tour guide to the solar system.

All the video content will be generated by me, and is completely customizable. I will also show the footage on a projected screen for those who prefer not to use VR. I will also bring physical models if necessary however, I feel VR is good enough :) I will also answer any questions during the workshop.

Participants

I will bring lots of headsets to cater for any amount of people who show up.

Outcome

I hope that the participants get more into STEM, and space. At the end, I will explain all the methods used, including software and websites they can use at home. If I can provide enough headsets, the participants will also take away the google cardboards to experience their own VR at home. I will also include lots of links to amazing VR space videos for them to carry on learning. I hope this amazes and inspires all.
