Looping myself into this session- Will take this session on if Open innovation @auremoser or Digital inclusion @kenyatta1 have no space
Hi @mikeconley I know you normally do these sessions live on Airmo- would you be interested in doing this at MozFest live??
Hi @Saallen! Yep, absolutely. Do you think it'd be a worthwhile session to host?
yES!! I love the openness of exercise. Think @EPIKhub would be interested in sending her network here, as well as @flukeout Remotely I can see @acabunoc and @zee-moz looping in some remote events such as in Bostan etc
<3 love this!
Hey @saallen - We're looking to accept this session in Open Innovation but we don't have a huge amount of space. The plan was to turn this into a gallery session to have people drop by and watch @mikeconley livehack. If you have more space and can host this as a shed or learning zone then let me know 😄
@KirstieJane - love this idea of Mike live hacking in the gallery
Session description and material requests cribbed from an email conversation with @auremoser and @KirstieJane:
I was also considering [...] recording a session, live, in the gallery. Maybe even several sessions. Like, perhaps do 1.5 hours, then a break, then another 1.5 hours, etc - working on bugs, and taking questions or commentary from observers or passer-by when they occur.
If I could get a projector, as well as a second monitor, that'd be super helpful. If I end up doing a livestream while I'm there, it might also be useful to have a wired network connection (unless the wireless connectivity is really good!); though I understand if that's difficult to put together. I don't have to livestream from London, but I thought it might be fun. :)
One thing I didn't mention in my e-mail is that a chair and a desk to work from would also be useful.
Thank you @mikeconley !
@mikeconley no green screen?
@mikeconley no green screen?
I could certainly bring one! I have one that folds up nicely. In that case, I'll need something to drape it on. I often use one of the wheel-y whiteboards that we have in the office, but I could probably rig something up even if one of those aren't available.

Thanks @KirstieJane! One minor correction - a typo in my name:
[ Facilitator 1 Name ] Mike Conely
should be:
[ Facilitator 1 Name ] Mike Conley
Thanks!
@mikeconley - DOH! Thank you! Fixed now ✨
@marcwalsh - changed session format. I've updated the end of the description in the guidebook.

What will happen in your session?
I will livehack on Firefox in front of whoever decides to show up, while thinking aloud and answering questions if people have any. I'll work on bugs like I would normally, without any prior preparation, to try to capture and express what actually happens when hacking on Firefox.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
I want to show people that software professionals struggle and have to hunt around to answers too, and that working on large complex software systems is rarely like the prepared / practiced software exercises often seen in schools or online presentations.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
