We can extend the opening session into a weekend-long drop-in space with some staffing to continue developing a prototype for the demo fair.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your session proposal has been accepted.
@chadsansing our team will be in further contact with you in the coming days.
Awesome, @bunnybooboo - many thanks!

What will happen in your session?
This session will have two parts: an introductory session introducing the idea of creating an Internet of Things (IoT) “escape room” that invites participants to invent a story and craft a series of puzzles that pit the room’s “players” against the kinds of sensors and surveillance equipment set up in a fully automated smart city of the future. The second part will be a weekend-long drop-in shed space where participants can build prototypes of their ideas to run as an escape room during the closing demo fair at MozFest.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
We have two major goals. First, we want to help people better understand the kinds of interactions they might be subject to in a smart city full of connected devices so they can talk about the kind of healthy, connected future living spaces they want for themselves and their communities with privacy as society’s default setting. Second, we want to produce a prototype and documentation (in a GitHub repo) of an escape room that participants and local community organizations - like libraries - could use to teach the same ideas, vocabulary, and visioning participants experience at MozFest.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
We could use a projector or screen in our classroom and shed space, as well as paper-prototyping materials like markers, tape, glue, scissors, cardboard boxes, and paper. We will provide any necessary IoT devices or larger prototyping materials.
