What will happen in your session?
We'll facilitate a conversation about digital security in and near newsrooms and best practices for helping colleagues level up their digital security without giving out dangerously bad advice, and we'll review the curriculum that Open News and BuzzFeed Open Lab are collaborating on and identify sections that participants are interested in working together to improve.
We may work together to test out existing modules or write up parts we feel are missing.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
Our goal is two-fold: we’d like to introduce folks to the curriculum material that we’ve developed and encourage feedback on those lessons, and we hope to continue to grow a thriving community of practice among everyone who leads security trainings in newsrooms and with journalists.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
Paper and pens are plenty.
