What will happen in your session?

The zine will include:

A definition of consent and consent culture
How these concepts apply to technology
Our definition of consentful tech
Breaking down aspects of consent and fill-in-the-blanks style Q&A for readers to reflect on the tech they’re building/using/funding --->Freely given — do users have a choice? --->Reversible — is it possible and easy for users to revoke consent later on? --->Informed — do users know the risks they’re being exposed to? How easy is it for them to learn about these risks? --->Enthusiastic — how does the platform address discomfort? --->Specific — are users able to consent to specific activities and decline others? Or is consent assumed to be blanket?
Case studies and examples

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

Begin conversations and reflections about consent and consent culture in technology Give participants/readers a framework to evaluate how consentful a technology is To serve as a resource for other sessions (DCTP session, Building Consentful Tech session, installation)

Want to give ppl something that they can walk away with this becomes a resource of other sessions/talks about conceptual technology helps frame the questions so ppl can start responding to bigger questions, and make connections with other movements- Easily accessible way to get introduced to a complicated topic

Table of contents - I <3 FRIES - nod to Planned parenthood Ripple map with arrive with zine made- Feedback loop that allows us to integrate into a bigger tool kit Will allow ppl make zines also
