Mozilla Club Leader!
@amirad Thanks
Hello @arkodyuti!
Thank you for your proposal! I wanted to ask if the travel stipend is necessary for you to be able to attend Mozfest or if you'd be able to attend without one?
One question I have is how you'll be tying in some Web Literacy topics. Will these be built into the discussion of the hackathon models? I look forward to hearing more!
Thanks!
Hello @jonathanprozzi Since I'm a university student and have no financial organization to support me. Therefore I would require travel stipend so that I can attend Mozfest.
Well, when I talk about this project it involves building teaching tools/kits/activities out of Hackathons which can be used to teach the web.
Hackathons are the key to ideate and build new teaching tools. Back at Hello Web Curriculum Workshop we build over 20+ teaching tools/activities based on Web Literacy topics like Internet Basics, Computer Programming, WebVR, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and more: http://github.com/arkodyuti/helloweb
This project ABC's of Hackathon will comprise of step wise modules right from scratch which will help a beginner/pro level person to know the inside-out of a Hackathon. In addition to that, I am planning to introduce a set of stories/experiences of renowned Hackathon organizers worldwide. This will involve a strategic as well as a demographic approach towards hosting Hackathons.
Hi @arkodyuti - unfortunately we will not be able to accept your session at this year's festival. We had many excellent submissions and simply do not have enough travel stipends available to accommodate everyone. Thanks for your understanding and for submitting your proposal.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a session to MozFest. Due to the high level of submissions, we’re unable to accept all proposals and unfortunately, your session was not part of the final group.
Thank you for taking the time to submit and we will follow up on email very soon.

What will happen in your session?
An interactive session with folks who host Hackathons worldwide. A brief walk through the steps of planning and hosting a Hackathon. This session will help us in knowing how people worldwide visualize a Hackathon with the ongoing social/industrial issues in their countries/communities respectively. This is because Hackathons always have a purpose to mend/build solutions on various domains.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
A strategic module where various skilled Hackathon Organizers share their notes/ideas on how to host a Hackathon right from scratch.
A collection of stories of the famous Hackathon Organizers(can also include folks from Mozilla Design Sprints as well) worldwide about their experiences - stories are always the best way to share.
An open repository on GitHub with all the information of the ABC's of Hackathon which can be used by community members worldwide in order to understand/utilize the resources and get connected to the giants of Hackathon Organizers in around them.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
A projector and office supplies like paper, pens, post-it notes are all I need to facilitate the session.
