What will happen in your session?

Mozilla’s contributors from all over the world do and outstanding work by spreading the word about Mozilla’s mission within their communities. However, most of the times these leaders have very limited resources to lead their events and campaigns.

In this session we will explore case studies about Club leaders who have done a great job on a very low budget. We will have some Hands on activities on how to build a Toolkit for campaigns (Web Literacy, activism, advocacy), and we’ll finally share a Repo with available resources:

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

  1. Participants will learn about experiences on how to run advocacy, web literacy and activism events on a low budget.
  2. Participants will create new resources to be included in an open source toolkit.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

Projector Paper, pens, post-it notes.

Great idea and very relevant to Global leaders running events locally. @amirad might also be interested to leave feedback for this.

YES. So excited for this and relevant for the global network. Love the idea of a open source toolkit to be used by others after Mozfest too.

Hello @Carotejada! Thanks for submitting - I wanted to double-check about the travel stipend: Are you able to attend without, or is the stipend absolutely required for you to come to Mozfest? Let me know, thank you!

Thank you @jvallera and @amirad! @barrosgeraldo and I created this proposal based on the experiences we've had with clubs, and we thinks it can help other leaders ;)

Hello @Carotejada! As MozFest is approaching we’re asking that you reply to this issue with an outline of the topics and activities for your session. A rough, bullet-point outline with time estimates would be ideal. Thank you and let us know if you have any questions.

Hey @Carotejada - thanks for the updated outline. The Aritst in Residence this year in our space will be running a kind of Meme Lab that will invite people to examine, discuss and create internet memes. Given some of the topics in your session (like creating cartoons & stamps) - are you interested in collaborating or working with the artist in some way? Let me know and I'll make sure to connect you.

@Carotejada - we've created the first version of the Web Literacy Space schedule for the weekend and wanted you to have a look...

Please take a few minutes to locate your session (I've had to abbreviate the session names) and let us know if you have any questions or if there are any reasons that you cannot host your session during the chosen time (like a travel conflict or another session you are hosting at the same time). Please comment in this issue and and include @flukeout to get my attention.

We'll be finalizing the schedule next week and updating the Guidebook app that attendees will use during the festival.
