What will happen in your session?

This session will bring together like minded folks interested in Gallery, Library, Art & Museum (GLAM) collections to explore how visitors' participation can make digital collections more alive, both on the web and in exhibition space.

In the session we will:

• introduce (very briefly) why these questions are important for us at the R&D team of the Slovak National Gallery
• ask participants about the themes / issues / questions they are facing
• break out in smaller groups to discuss and come up with ideas related to the themes from the group
• present discussion outcomes in a quick stand up presentation
• document themes and outcomes for sharing via blog post after MozFest
• have fun meeting fellow ✨GLAMers✨

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

We want to facilitate a meeting point to discus and share approaches to digital collection practices, regardless of the type of content or media. We'd like people working in/with GLAM organisations to find common challenges, shared solutions and mutual inspiration. Longer term, we hope that being aware of each other's approaches might lead to more exchange and collaboration further down the line.

so far been in touch with people at Victoria & Albert Museum tech team as well as the Dutch Sound and Vision Institute R&D team and both are interested in participating in the session 🎈 Hope to flesh out more details with them and others soon about useful topics to bring to the table...
