What will happen in your session?

Digital Inclusion and Equity can seem like monoliths. We want to make change in our own backyards, but where to begin? Every community is different, but we can leverage known approaches to identify partners who can help us champion the cause of digital inclusion.

Whether you are coordinating education, launching public wifi or recycling devices, you need to attract stakeholders and get them on the team. Participants will share best practices, talk about local challenges, and work together to come up with short-term plans they can take back home and execute.

This session will be particularly relevant to libraries and community based organizations who are trying to add digital inclusion to their plans of service. Independent advocates are needed & welcome!

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

For anyone interested, whether an independent advocate, a librarian or community worker, to see that digital inclusion is something that you don't have to take on alone. We want people to make plans for the human networks that are required for local digital inclusion work to be successful, and to feel confident in their experiences and the potential for change in their communities.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

An overhead, pens and scrap paper would be helpful. If we're in a space without writing surfaces, some consideration (clipboards or something functionally similar) would be helpful.
