Hey @projectsbyif CONGRATULATIONS!! Your proposal has made it through to the Mozfest Privacy and Security team's final selection. We'll be reaching out with further information in the coming days.
Harry requested that this be on the 28th which appears this is where it is on the current draft schedule: https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mozfest-program-2017/projects/2?fullscreen=true
Can we edit the additional facilitators on here to: Sarah Gold, Ian Hutchinson and Georgina Bourke?
Github is now a legacy feature as we race towards the event @HarryTrimble I have asked with production though, as I too can see the relevance of having an archive, a true reflection of those from your team who will be attending. I've also noted the day change and have escalated this to return your session to Saturday.
Done @HarryTrimble Let me know if they want bios in the Guidebook app associated with your session. I'd personally have to do this and manually.
This session MUST remain on Saturday's schedule cc @mmmavis @arroway

What will happen in your session?
Data, privacy and permissions need to be taken as seriously as accessibility and usability. Digital rights are becoming a mainstream issue. The next generation of products will be trusted with more data and make more decisions on people’s behalf. To deal with those changes, people making services need common design patterns, shared language, and a community to help them make ethical decisions. In this workshop participants will have 90 minutes to sketch better ways for people to share and protect their data, supported by members of the IF team. We’ll use the results to update the open-source Data Permissions Catalogue (catalogue.projectsbyif.com), a repository of approaches to consent that help product teams think differently about the things they make.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
We want to expand the community contributing to the open-source Data Permissions Catalogue. In addition, and because so much of the work around privacy and security is technical or compliance-driven, we also want to engage with people who are familiar with the issues but might not have a background in thinking about it as a design problem. The goal is also to think about users: what needs and considerations aren’t present in the catalogue? How can we evolve our thinking in the area, and connect with teams in the open web community who have deep understanding of disempowered or vulnerable users?
