What will happen in your session?
This session will be an interactive workshop that goes over how to create iterative, inclusive, and accessible documentation for technical projects. We’ll look at examples of community-driven documentation, go over how to keep documentation central to development projects, and consider how communities can be built around documentation that allows access to users from diverse backgrounds. This session will result in guidelines for inclusive technical documentation projects.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
The goal of the session is to collaboratively, as a group, develop a set of guidelines for inclusive documentation for technical projects. These guidelines will provide best practices and resources for writing documentation that is easy to understand for as many people as possible, building communities around documentation, and driving greater digital inclusivity and accessibility. These goals can continue to expand online following the in-person session at MozFest 2017.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
Post-it notes, index cards, pens, and paper would be great for the collaborative work of this session.
