@ArtsAward this is an amazing group of people doing grass roots social action through tech. I invited them to submit to Web lit as I felt it was the best place for them as educators and digital leaders. I am hosting 2 of their young people in the Youth Zone from a journey that started at MozFest 2015 with one of our london youth leaders. https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mozfest-program-2017/issues/577 and https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mozfest-program-2017/issues/354
Thanks for the useful heads up @EPIKhub
Hello Kobir - We are very happy to announce you that we have decided to accept your session at the festival this year! Congratulations! 🎉 You'll receive soon news about how move forward with your proposal
Hello everyone. Sorry for the late reply. We are incredibly excited to be taking part in MozFest and look forward to meeting lots of new people.
Hello @caffebd, we are also excited to have your session in our Space!!! See you at the MozFest!
Dear Facilitators, we are happy to share with you the MozFest facilitators 2017 Guide at the Link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fezzIH8u0Li6pIHMNYDCuUjA_gHpB4Px9eXQo4Ol7es/edit It is also important to sign in here: https://public.etherpad-mozilla.org/p/festival.fabriders.facilitatorcoaching2017 for the coaching session, that helps you in your facilitation role! :)
Hello @caffebd - as Mozfest approaches we're asking session facilitators like yourself to provide a brief outline of the session you will be hosting. A rough breakdown of tasks and how long they will take would be perfect. Thanks!
Hey @caffebd - what is your preferred session format? Do you have a time or length in mind that would be ideal? Also, how many laptops will you be bringing? I'll see what's available to provide at the venue.
Hello,
Our session is about sharing some of the work and projects our students have been working on. It will be something that people can come along to and browse and use; if there is a group we can give a more formal talk.
We will probably use a mixture of raspberry pi and laptops. We are currently working out how many we can get together… maybe around 4 laptops/screens in total.
There will also be some work to view and use on tablets and some Arduino gadgets to play with.
We have not attended MozFest before so we don’t really know what the layout is like or how much space there will be for us.
Luke.

Hello @caffebd - we've created the first version of the Web Literacy Space schedule for the weekend and wanted you to have a look...
Please take a few minutes to locate your session (I've had to abbreviate the session names) and let us know if you have any questions or if there are any reasons that you cannot host your session during the chosen time (like a travel conflict or another session you are hosting at the same time). Please comment in this issue and and include @flukeout
to get my attention.
We'll be finalizing the schedule next week and updating the Guidebook app that attendees will use during the festival.
Thanks!
Hi @flukeout . There is no problem with the time you have given us. I know you say you are still finalising the Gallery Space times so I just wanted to let you know that we are keen to run our session for as long as possible. We are coming from Bangladesh and funding the trip ourselves so we it would be good to get the most out of it. Thanks, Luke.

What will happen in your session?
CAFFE (Computers Are Free For Everyone) is a UK charity proving education in a range of EdTech areas such as web development, coding and graphic design to underprivileged young people in Bangladesh. We would share our story of how we have been effective in providing Transformative/life-changing career opportunities to our students. We will show different aspects of CAFFE’s model for reaching Street Children and other Underprivileged minority groups. Participants will be able to get hands-on with a variety of our students’ creations as well as hear from former students about how CAFFE impacted their lives.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
Discussion of issues, barriers and good practice. A look at the future and how we can work to maximise capacity building of grass roots community groups in Bangladesh and other developing countries. CAFFE not only operates its own school, we have also worked with other partners around the country to support them in delivering an IT curriculum that meets their needs. We would be very happy to share our successes and failures, when attempting to do this in a country where both Internet and electricity supply can be unreliable.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
Projector, large screen TV, while we have a couple of our own laptops, any additional laptops that could be provided would allow more people to get hands on with our exhibits. (we are limited as to what we can bring as our equipment is in constant use at our school and it would have to be transported from Bangladesh)
Time needed
All weekend, as an installation, exhibit or drop-in session
