What will happen in your session?

The inaugural cohort of Mozilla Web Literacy Leaders are a diverse group of leaders-- from librarians to veteran’s assistance providers -- teaching web literacy in their communities. They’re part of the global network of Mozillians working to ensure the next wave of access, inclusion, and opportunity on the open web. Is this a model that can be replicated in communities as a way to grow and spread web literacy to other communities? What other models can we learn from and leverage and how can we “fuel the movement” through leadership. Learn more about this leadership network, their open projects, what they’ve learned as we engage in discussion about the utility of this model.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

The goal of this session is to share out experiences launching the Web Literacy Leaders program as a way to share one model for spreading web literacy through a leadership development program, and discuss other ways to fuel the movement.

@Saallen - is the travel confirmed? Cheers!

@flukeout This group comes via An-me and everyone here should have travel covered by An-me except Kelly Hudson, as far as I am aware

Hello! As MozFest is approaching we’re asking that you reply to this issue with an outline of the topics and activities for your session. A rough, bullet-point outline with time estimates would be ideal. Thank you and let us know if you have any questions.

@jonathanprozzi I've emailed the facilitator to request an outline.

Hey An-me - we've created the first version of the Web Literacy Space schedule for the weekend and wanted you to have a look...

Please take a few minutes to locate your session (I've had to abbreviate the session names) and let us know if you have any questions or if there are any reasons that you cannot host your session during the chosen time (like a travel conflict or another session you are hosting at the same time). Please comment in this issue and and include @flukeout to get my attention.

We'll be finalizing the schedule next week and updating the Guidebook app that attendees will use during the festival.

Thanks!

Hey @flukeout - just wanted to flag that one of the facilitators for this session (Matthew Kopel) is also booked for a Digital Inclusion session (https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mozfest-program-2017/issues/449). We've currently scheduled that for Saturday at 4:30pm. Will that conflict with this session? Please let us know so we can ensure Matthew can attend both sessions. Thanks!
