What will happen in your session?

Movements multiply their chances of success when they can draw upon each other’s best strategic insights and creative approaches — which is precisely the role that the Beautiful Trouble toolbox plays. We invite you for a test of what it can do. We will be designing actions to counter a dystopian reality of the Internet owned by a powerful few, big corporations and media moguls. This session will be a fastpacing intro to direct action as a way of building movements and taking matters of internet freedom into our own hands, as well as a session where we can start crafting a toolbox for the open internet movement.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

The participants will get insights to creative direct action design through the Beautiful Trouble suite of strategic tools and will be added to the network of more than houndreds of activists from around the globe practicing direct action for a more equitable world. Through the use of the toolbox we will spark participants imagination through the design of direct actions that they can hopefully take with them when they build their own campaigns for a decentralized internet. We hope that some of the participants would like to even contribute to the toolkit with their own stories as a way of sowing the seeds for a toolbox for the open internet movement.
