What will happen in your session?
During my session I will introduce the attendees to the design process of medical devices. The design of new devices can be customized, following the anatomy of the patients, and optimized to avoid the risk of failure. In this session, the audience will understand how it is possible importing to the clinical application open-source solutions in order to reduce the cost for the health system. The steps involved in the design process will be explained and a tutorial with hands-on application will be run.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
The idea is to spread-out the possibility that the Open-Source network can offer. Linking low-cost solutions and the continuous evolving of ideas will lead technological improvements. Particularly, in the health care system the development of new devices can be faster, the cost reduced and the design customized according to subject-specific anatomy. The goal of my session is to involve passionate thinkers in this Open-Source project, sharing ideas and starting collaborations to bring this project active in the clinical application.
