@annmarie123 - Interesting session
Wow, that's a really brave career change, I'm sure your creativity is a real asset as an engineer! Unfortunately we didn't think this session was quite right for the Digital Inclusion space this year. I'm removing the milestone to allow other spaces (Web Literacy especially,) to consider your proposal.
Thanks @sedgwickkm - we'll be reviewing it!
Unfortunately we are unable to accept this session this year, thanks for the heads up however.

Hi @annmarie123 we would love to see this session happen at MozFest. We will have a set area for sessions that sit outside a space, but are still on the schedule. Would you be interested in still running this session but in our emergent session area?
@Saallen Absolutely! Just send me details about the emergent area space you are planning when you can so I can adjust the presentation accordingly. Thanks!

What will happen in your session?
In this session, I will present how performing artists can easily and cheaply learn digital skills such as web design and digital marketing in order to better market themselves and their work. Based on my own personal experience of going from a chinese opera singer to engineer in a year, attendees will learn to quickly create their own portfolio website, as well as all the digital tools they need to succeed as a modern artist and how to continue learning online for free.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
Besides demonstrating a basic curriculum arts educators could be incorporating to better serve and prepare artists for the 21st century, this session will also highlight how the booming tech industry today is in dire need of creative thinkers and artists and how by utilizing digital education tools such Mozilla Thimble, A-Frame, and Udacity, performing artists can grow not only professionally, but creatively.
