This could be a great session for either the Shed or the Gallery.
I agree. I think the concept fits well into the Gallery space.
We'd really love to make this an accessible workshop with ASL! Also, see below for some examples of 3D scans of PAERE's lovely graphic designer.
This proposal has progressed to our next phase of deliberation! We will be following up shortly.
@PAERE I'm seeking clarity on your stipend request. Your proposal has made it through to the next phase of consideration by the Digital Inclusion wrangler team. Unfortunately though, we've got way more seeking stipends than we have access to. If we were unable to give you access to a stipend, might you have other means available to you to make it to Mozfest? If you would like we can also have this conversation via email.
@sedgwickkm - I have an email thread with Lequanne about the stipend. I'll forward to you.
Thank you @hannahkane, we are honoured to have been considered!
@lequanne Congratulations! We are very happy to announce that we have accepted your session at the festival this year! We will be in touch with additional information in the coming weeks.
Thank you again!

What will happen in your session?
In this session, I will provide a background around the history of photogrammetry and colour vision as related to race, computer vision and colour in film. Following this, the participants will be able to 3D scan themselves and we will critique what it feels like to have a second virtual self.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
The primary goal of the session is to generate an understanding of how 3D scanning works, the history of digitization and how it documents certain narratives online, as well as critique the process. Ultimately making the connection between computer vision and understanding the importance of diverse online representations in imagery, and in future, digital renditions of humanness in virtual formats.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
We would require wifi, a projector and a screen. If possible, extra Ipads would be helpful as well.
