Thanks for this... good be good for our Exhibit space with a possible drop in desk at certain times
@Btayeg Thanks for submitting this proposal. We have a limited number of travel and accomodation stipends to go around and these are now pretty much all assigned. Do you think you be able to come and run this session without the aid of a stipend?
@maboa, I won't be able to make it without stipends, but my colleague @georgiamoon will be there for other events so they can run the session.
Thanks @Btayeg... Is this ok for you @gideonthomas ?
It's A-OKAY for me! But I think you meant @georgiamoon :D
Just checking this is ok still? @geogiamoon?
@cubicgarden the web literacy folks will cover my travels. So I will be able to run this session.
Great thanks...
I'll be there too! Sounds good. Thanks all!
Adding 'edited' tag to bring requirement for Easels to attention of MozFest team
Hi @Btayeg , my name is Kasia and I work on Mozilla’s Internet Health Report. At Mozfest we will be present with an “Internet Research Hub” #618 (last comment) - an easy-going, cozy space for discussions and networking both with us about Internet Health and among researchers themselves. Maybe you've heard about it already from @georgiamoon who is helping us put that together.
We also invite anyone who does work in an Internet research field to sign up and present their work at a couple of open display tables we will have in the hub. If you would like to present something in the Hub in addition to your official session, let me know! We will promote these sessions throughout the festival. You can sign up spontaneously with pen and paper on site or if you would like to save a spot beforehand, drop me an email at kasia@mozillafoundation.org with a short description of the session.
In any case, I would like to invite you to pass by the hub and say hi. We will start with an informal "Research and coffee grinder” get-together at the beginning of the festival where people can get to know each other. Space and exact schedule for the Hub are still being decided and I will update you once we know the details. Hope to see you there!
I've checked through the comments for supplies. All good here!
@georgiamoon Do you still need easels and how many? :)

What will happen in your session?
Our exhibit will share the findings of the Technology for Social Justice field scan research project. The T4SJ research project is a participatory action research co-led by Research Action Design (RAD), Open Technology Institute (OTI) and their nine partner organizations. We will have visualizations, practitioners' stories, and interactive displays that will show the results of our one year research documenting, mapping, and analyzing the space many of us hold using technology for social good.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
We spent half of 2016 and most of 2017 trying to understand how people that work with technology to advance social good and social justice come into this field. How those that use technology in the public’s interest define the space they work in and how they see the challenges and the threats they face. Our goal is to share these findings and much more with the MozFest Community.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
We will need a projector, an exhibition area, and easels.
Time needed
All weekend, as an installation, exhibit or drop-in session
