What will happen in your session?

Having been a community leader for many years, attended countless "Open Leadership" workshops/trainings (including the Mozilla Foundation's Open Leadership 2017 cohort)... this workshop will explore the current status of open leadership and the many areas of improvement. We will scrutinize the current tactics (discussing both the pros and cons) and charting out more improved/modern strategy for open leadership.

As a part of the session being a round table discussion, participants will have the chance to share their open leadership best practices. As a follow up, these tactics shared will be analyzed and broken down into the improvements possible in today's world.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

The goal of this session is to give leaders in organizations that covet and treasure their missions of "Open Leadership", the chance to turn around and look at the trail they've blazed.

Participants will leave having reflected on their current open leadership habits. In addition, having discussed ways to up-cycle our current open leadership implementations to become relevant and current. With the new influx of interactive technology, this brings into play how can we foster organizations for a wider audience or making sure we meet the growing needs of our current members.

This interactive activity will be recorded on an etherpad, blog, and powerpoint saved so that participants can bring the knowledge back home.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

I will need a projector for the powerpoint. If I could be supplied post-it notes/markers that would be great. If not, I can get my own.
