Hands on creation of augmented reality scenes using arjs and aframe Experience the scenes created by users in the space

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

At the end of the session, all the attendees will be familiar with the basics of how VR works, how webVR works and most importantly how to create virtual reality scenes on the web in just 30 minutes and experience them. They will be able to create webvr scenes on their own, not just demos. Everyone should be able to create their unique scenes, upload, experience and share them. Daresay with a #mozfest flare.

To discuss: Would this session work better if it was divided into two shoter sessions? One introduction, and one workshop scheduled later?

rabimba commented 7 years ago

This definitely will. But only if we have at least some same set of people. If I do an introduction and later a workshop, in the workshop I will tend to go more hands on. In that case if there are new people attending the workshop then they will miss out on the introduction. This will work best for two sessions if we can have the workshop as a follow up of the introduction session and announce something like "For more hands on creation magic please visit our workshop at....."

Open to suggestion and to hear your thoughts.

Hi @rabimba! Thanks for your proposal and for clarifying some of the questions. Also, I wanted to double-check about the stipend request. Is the stipend a requirement for your attendance or is there any way that you could attend without it?

Thanks!

Hello @rabimba - just wanted to check in on @jonathanprozzi's question - will you absolutely require a travel stipend to attend Mozfest this year or are you able to come without one?

rabimba commented 7 years ago

Hi @flukeout @jonathanprozzi I am reliant on the stipend to attend. I am a graduate student at present and the scholarship even though is alright for me to survive, doesn't allow for me any scope to travel much :(

I do have some other sessions in mozfest, if I can get a stipend for anyone of those, I will be able to come and give the talk. But it I am getting asked this same question in all places :(

So if I don't get any stipend, unfortunately, it won't be possible for me to come.

flukeout commented 7 years ago

Hi @rabimba - unfortunately we will not be able to offer a stipend for your session this year so we cannot accept it into our space. It was a tough choice as we had many excellent proposals, and we thank you for yours.

rabimba commented 7 years ago

@flukeout Understandable :)

Thank you for taking the time to submit a session to MozFest. Due to the high level of submissions, we’re unable to accept all proposals and unfortunately, your session was not part of the final group.

Thank you for taking the time to submit and we will follow up on email very soon.
