Need one folder for adventure ideas and another for characters or puzzles? Want a folder for sharing other games and resources that might help us here?

Comment below and we'll add what you need.

Where can I just start putting up my Cryptomancer notes on this Git Hub thing so whomever wants to can look at them ? I don't get how this works, Pull New Request ? Clone or Download ?

@BakuDreamer, great question.

There are several ways you can contribute your notes.

What sounds best to you?

BakuDreamer commented 7 years ago

I think what I'll do is put up all the notes and stuff on Medium and then put a link to that on the Git Hub ( ? )

@BakuDreamer, that works. I can also make an "adventure-notes" folder if you'd like to put things directly in the repo. Let me know 😄

If someone is interested, I worked a Cryptomancy adaptation for Fate Core at my repo. Still a little crude and needs playtest, but think is good enough for a starting point.

One more before the eagerly awaited volume-two of C&D.

Wisps. Wisps are little summoned cryptomantic entities just like the Scout Sprite, except that a Wisp can inhabit a piece of shard, and will get up to all kinds of mischief. Generally a wisp will hide in a shard ( very hard to detect with just Astral Eyes, requires the XORkismos spell that will also remove wisps ) and secretly open a channel to another shard-net or the shardscape itself. A wisp can simply spy on the shard it inhabits.

Wisps can also be given instructions to ' brick ' a shard just rendering it inert. Or they can destroy a shard by vibrating and heating up until it cracks ( killing themselves in the process ) But mostly a wisp will just hide and listen and spy. But a wisp can also listen for something. A specific word, phrase, key-phrase, etc. that might trigger more instructions it has.

A wisp can't reproduce ; but can hop to a new shard if that's part of what it's been instructed to do.

{ Except in the rare case where a wisp summoned by an expert Magus has been given the 'Lamplighter' ability. A Lamplighter will shard hop and try and find a source of Magic Points coming to it to feed on, and if it does it will start to make copies of itself, which will then shard hop and look for MP to feed on ... }

Wisps, once detected, can be gotten rid of by Delimiter ( simple dispel magic ) if it's a weak wisp. Tougher wisps need XORkismos, and maybe the talents of a specialist Magus.

About the Adventure Ideas, @chadsansing , I think that the folders are a good idea, and we could curate things, by putting there some materials from others that are not that accomplished with Github (with the correct credits and source linking)

BakuDreamer commented 7 years ago

What was the point of Git-hub at all ?
