We need brief, inviting write-ups of Cryptomancer's world-building and rules. Help introduce the game to new players and role-playing game (RPG) beginners.

Describe your work and link to it by commenting below.

This is what I put on Facebook a couple of days ago to see if anyone else was interested :

" Cryptomancer is an independently published RPG based on the concept of a standard issue ' humans / elves / dwarves / orcs / some wizards / and a dragon ' fantasy setting : where they have a magic equivalent of the internet and spend all day trying to hack each other. The guy who started it is a network security expert who wanted a fun and engaging way to teach crypto, networking and privacy literacy to non-specialists "

How about :

' Cryptomancer ' is LOTR with a magic Internet going. Your Fantasy Basic with mobile service.

Everyone has a sword and wears a cloak. Everyone eats stew and drinks mead. And, everyone has a smart phone and a credit rating. Everybody hates each other but hates The Dark Lord even more, who hates them even more than they hate him and each other put together. You all met at a tavern.

@BakuDreamer, also thinking about the rules and crypto principles for beginners. If you're not an RPG or crypto insider, but curious, what would be helpful to introduce you to the game or to online safety and inclusion issues?

The comment about the teenage elves is not acceptable - I edited it out for now. We need this space to be as welcoming as possible to everyone who might want to contribute. I appreciate your contributions so far apart from that comment, but it cannot stand here. Please check the README and Code of Conduct as necessary.

The best explanation of of public / private keys I've heard is the ' I put a lock on a box and mail it to you, then you put a lock on the box and mail it back to me ... ' analogy. Everyone gets that. So that should be in there somewhere probably.

I'm going to keep an eye on this while I familiarize myself with the game... if someone else gets to it first I'm happy to proofread.
