Overview

The app used at SourceCon, Mozfest, and Hive Chicago Buzz offers attendees a simple schedule tool. We might add new features that extend the conversations and relationships beyond the short event.

• deepen engagement with attendees and extend a post-event experience
• better understand the event's impact on attendees.

This work builds on the ideation in the last heartbeat to develop two concepts for review.

Constraints:

• The light-weight app provides simple utility. The design and testing of features should enhance the experience without detracting from this utility or the IRL event itself.
• Maintain the ease of login-free use. Aim for etherpad or redpen like participation. We should only add user accounts if there's strong, validated evidence that the benefit will outweigh the engineering cost and user experience friction.

Progress! We will wrap up a decks today on two proposed features. Event documentation and conversations. They outline the use case and potential to extend the impact of our events. They also hint at the insight we can gather via metrics.

Next, work will dive into UX for the documentation feature.

We will puruse documentation feature over the conversation feature because... it reflects the MoFo approach to convenings, more so than a conversations feature. It is a malleable and flexible solution that can solve many challenges at once. It complements the IRL experience without disrupting it, a risk with a conversations feature.
