Improve Look and feel of header #8

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Courtesy of the minima theme, our current site header is pretty plain and simple. It would be great to have it look as fun as the Wordpress Blog.

Describe the solution you'd like The current Wordpress theme's header looks awesome as is, it can be replicated in the new blog. Feel free to discuss any suggestions that come to your mind to improve upon it.

Additional context Be sure to take care of both the desktop and the mobile views for the same and have the correct links.

Part of the issues mentioned by @karx in #2. He is also interested in tackling the issue and looking for suggestions in case any are missed.
