Hi Sonia! Thanks for coming up to give a talk! (Congrats on your first proposal! :sparkles: ) Happy to welcome you to the event! Here are a few questions which I would like you to answer, which in return will help you give a successful talk!

Thanks Vishal

I am replying inline to the above questions asked :

Why do you think this is important?

Currently, people who want to use the computer and advanced technologies must first learn English. In the area, with low literacy rates, this blocks access to information and communication technologies, especially for the rural poor and women who do not have equal access to education. So, localization is top-priority contribution and an essential component in ensuring that our translation has the maximum effect on million of users.

How does this help students?

It helps the students to communicate in their own language. No need for local users to learn English first. The local programmers can gain expertise and experience expeditiously

How did this help you?

My first language is Punjabi and I can feel the pain of programmers who don't know much English. So, It would help in having new technical students and creating the local control over the functionality of various software.

Is this restricted to any particular group of people?

It is open for all students :relaxed: Anyone with or without technical knowledge, with or without experience, beginners, everyone is welcomed :sparkling_heart:

Hey @soniasingla! A good presentation, will help you remember things during the session, and also remind you that there is another speaker after you! This is also important that I add the label [Approved] to your talk, and I can do that, only after you've provided a link to your slides! Please reach out to me here or on Telegram, if you need any help regarding this! Waiting! :sparkle: :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey Sonia, just a follow up, I know you're making the ppt, can you also update your talk abstract/brief so we could put it in the banners? Take example from this: https://github.com/MozillaPunjab/Talks/issues/3

Thanks for the session! Hope you learned and taught from this. It'd be great if you can write about the following as a comment before I close it.

  1. Things that went well
  2. Things that did go that well in your session
  3. What you could have done to make it better
