Loading screen persists forever if no VR displays connected #27

We should show a warning message to the user (and in the Console) and not just keep animating the loading throbber.

But the animating loader is only meanwhile some things are loading, it disappears in a moment with a normal internet connection

Sorry, in my machine starts automatically SteamVR if you have not connected when press any button mode. I suppose in your case, you don't have SteamVR installed in your machine.

I did have SteamVR installed. it just wasn't started.

I was using a local server, so that can't be it
