External CD burners won’t work? #524

I tried using two different external CD drives and they won’t work.

Pretty sure this is a firmware specific issues as I tried them on different Live installers on the chromebook which wouldn’t work. I then tried on non coreboot/mrchromebox laptop and both burners worked on both distros.

Is there a way to getting an external cd drive/burners working by changing some setting in the efi shell or boot devices?

these are USB devices? No reason they shouldn't work once the OS is booted.

Boot a live USB, connect the CD burner with a disc in it, and then grab a dmesg log: sudo dmesg > dmesg.log and attach it here (do NOT copy/paste it here)
