So I have an 8bitdo pro 2 controller, it's a reprogrammable controller with a button on it that lets you switch to change control scheme on the fly. All this does however is move the buttons around on the controller.
It did give me the thought though that, especially when playing with mods, you can end up with an awful lot of buttons to map and the radial menu certainly helps, but if you're building you might want to prioritise different controls to when you're exploring and vs when youre fighting and so on.
So, perhaps being able to switch control scheme and map different actions to the buttons based on which control scheme you have selected would be a good idea? With a select control scheme xyz for each control scheme + a cycle to next control scheme option as something you can map, you could use the radial menu to select a particular control scheme, or map a button to cycle through control schemes
