Default BIOS setting for display in Thinkpad T420i #290

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I was wondering what should be default setting for BIOS on Thinkpad T420i (4177-CTO). I am using Ubuntu 11.04 amd64 bit version.

Graphic Card = (Discrete/Integrated/Optimus) OS Detection = (Enabled/Disbled)

Bumblebee as of now will by default run integrated card for all tasks unless i run optirun64 command to make software use discrete graphic card. Is it advisable to run this on a production machine. I can't boot with either Optimus or integrated card as of now. I either get checking battery state or a blank screen on boot. I am just using discrete card. I guess i will have to figure that out first.

Thanks a lot.

I would set:

Graphic Card = Optimus OS Detection = Enabled

If bumblebee is working as you describe, I would say that it's working as designed...

simple glx gives me 50-60 fps while optirun64 gives me 1300-1400 fps. But i constantly get error that enable disable configuration file is not available.

I don't have any powerconfiguration for the T420..

We need to find the correct acpi_call commands to enable/disable your card..
