I have the same exact Issue dardan@ubuntu:~/Bureau/MrMEEE-bumblebee-1fe71b9$ optirun glxgears [VGL] WARNING: VirtualGL attempted and failed to obtain a Pbuffer-enabled [VGL] 24-bit visual on the 3D X server :1. ghost commented 13 years ago

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

I think this is fixed in newest version.. please try and report back

konradk commented 13 years ago

Unfortunately - the same error :(

konradk commented 13 years ago

Not the same. Now it is: [VGL] ERROR: Could not open display :1.

I'll send bugreport in minute.

konradk commented 13 years ago

ok, I am KDE user, i typed in konsole "optirun /usr/bin/glxgears" and I had error as above. Now I used alt+f2, and in this launcher i typed "optirun /usr/bin/glxgears". Now it works, but resolution is broken, display is multipled few times, and after exiting there is black screen - I had to restart Xserver. The same problem in other applications. I sent you bugreport.

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

Ok... can I get you to try with newest version 1.3.14...

konradk commented 13 years ago

Unfortunately :( When I run glxgears, I have this: http://wstaw.org/w/uTb/ (my screen's photo, bad quality). This is the same situation as above...

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

Just to get it right: Your screen is multiplied from login, or first when you run the optirun command???

konradk commented 13 years ago

From first when I run the optirun command. After launching "optirun glxgears" or any other app by optirun Xorg is unusable - black screen with some "artifacts"/noise.

komarEX commented 13 years ago

same for me (as konradk)

matthew85 commented 13 years ago

sounds like the wrong screen is addressed. For me i could reproduce this only when I started with: optirun -d :0 glxgears instead of -d :1 which is the default.

konradk commented 13 years ago

Ok, I typed "optirun -d :0 glxgears" and now I am able to launch glxgears also from console. But it still looks like this: http://wstaw.org/w/uTb/ and forces me to kill Xorg.

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

Which version of ubuntu are you running??+

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

have you tried v. 1.3.14...

If you have, please resend a bugreport...

ghost commented 13 years ago

Mrmee same here i sended u a bug report exept my pc its an acer as while as i can see we have the exact same problems

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

please try newest...

or just run

rm /usr/lib/nvidia-current/xorg/xorg

and

/etc/init.d/bumblebee stop /etc/init.d/bumblebee start

ghost commented 13 years ago

dardan@ubuntu:~/Bureau/MrMEEE-bumblebee-c06ef41/install-files$ rm /usr/lib/nvidia-current/xorg/xorg rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/nvidia-current/xorg/xorg': No such file or directory tryed the new one the same as before should i make another bug report

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

yes.. but can you please try to reboot before you do it...

konradk commented 13 years ago

Still the same problem. Bugreport sent. My OS: Kubuntu 11.04.

ghost commented 13 years ago

i did the reboot same thing after rebooting

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

Could you guys please try to run:

DISPLAY=:1 glxgears

and send me the output...

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

please also do a cat /usr/local/optimusXserver

ghost commented 13 years ago

DISPLAY=:1 glxgears Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual and dardan@ubuntu:/usr/local$ cat /usr/local/optimusXserve cat: /usr/local/optimusXserve: No such file or directory

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

you are missing a "r" try "cat /usr/local/optimusXserver"..

ghost commented 13 years ago

DISPLAY=:0 glxgears that prints me like i did glxgears alone

ghost commented 13 years ago

dardan@ubuntu:/usr/local$ ls bin etc games include lib man sbin share src but no optimusXserver it doesent exists

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

you are missing a "r" try "cat /usr/local/optimusXserver"..

konradk commented 13 years ago

Did you mean /usr/local/bin/optimusXserver ?

konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ cat /usr/local/bin/optimusXserver

!/bin/bash

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/nvidia-current /usr/bin/X $@konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$

konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ DISPLAY=:1 glxgears Error: couldn't open display :1

but I tried also konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ DISPLAY=:0 glxgears Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate. 284 frames in 5.0 seconds = 56.641 FPS XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0" after 918 requests (918 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

sry guys... meant /usr/local/bin/optimusXserver...

konraddk: please run /etc/init.d/bumblebee start

and send me /var/log/Xorg.1.log

konradk commented 13 years ago

konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ /etc/init.d/bumblebee start Bumblebee X Server is already running.

My log: http://wklej.org/id/530227/

Please note lines 156-166 :)

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

try to replace

Options IgnoreEDID

to

Options IgnoreEDID "true"

in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.nvidia

then try to run /etc/init.d/bumblebee stop /etc/init.d/bumblebee start

and post /var/log/Xorg.1.log

konradk commented 13 years ago

I changed Option "IgnoreEDID" to Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"

konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ /etc/init.d/bumblebee stop Stopping bumblebee X server: kill: 52: Usage: kill [-s sigspec | -signum | -sigspec] [pid | job]... or kill -l [exitstatus] konradk@konradk-eeepc:~$ /etc/init.d/bumblebee start Bumblebee X Server is already running.

I don't think that this restart was correct, so I did reboot.

My log: http://wklej.org/id/530246/

MrMEEE commented 13 years ago

ok..

please try:

ps axu |grep X

and

DISPLAY=:1 glxgears
