Ironhide on Lenovo Y470 doesn't work #100

Get lots of errors after running sudo apt-get remove ironhide ironhide-ui

It says:

Initial tests failed...

Please do report this problem...: https://github.com/MrMEEE/ironhide/issues/

No power-on/off configuration has been reported for your machine, please manually enter configuration in:

/usr/local/bin/ironhide-enablecard and /usr/local/bin/ironhide-disablecard

Some examples are available in /usr/share/ironhide/examples/.

This was in the terminal:

Do you have any errors if you run

dmesg

Hi. Here is what I see with dmesg after sudo apt-get install ironhide ironhide-ui

I think this laptop has a GeForce 550M chip. I can do a re-install into a different distro to check by running the binary installer if the model number will help? Then I could re-install back to ubuntu 11.04.

(not sure how to tell in ubuntu cause I'm an ubuntu noob but trying to learn if its possible)

When I first installed linux the day it came I did a centos 6 install and tried the binary installer from nvida and it said the model number before it compiled the driver interface but I didn't write it down. It is kind of billed as a high end "multimedia" laptop. Can also install windows again if required to copy down info. I'm not really using this laptop for much right now. :) So I can do whatever needed software/re-install wise.

Hello, this was bothering me so I checked. My Y470 has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M GPU along with the intel one. Let me know if you want me to run any other commands in ubuntu or to try anything or if you need further info about this laptop.
