Same problem. VGA output work, but HDMI do not.
Dell L502x not have VGA... :( and HDMI not works
You might want to take a look at this guys. HDMI is probably not working for you because the HDMI is connected directly to the integrated graphics card.

That link describes the issue and what you can do to let them know about the problem. The post was specifically written for Bumblebee, but I think that the same applies to ironhide, at least for now. It seems like people have maybe found some workaround by running nvidia-settings through optirun and enabling the second monitor that way, but it sounds buggy. I may play around with that, but right now I think I'm going back to the regular nvidia drivers because I have a monitor that needs HDMI for full resolution (which is more important to me at the moment than the additional battery life).
Good luck.
I got that way using Bumblebee: 1- Open nvidia-settings optirun nvidia-settings -c :8
2- HDMI got a 640x480 signal, but with correct xorg.conf.nvidia for /etc/bumblebee it got correct ... at 1280x1024 (my sample)
3- Open programs using "DISPLAY=:8" DISPLAY=:8 glxspheres -fs
Got 1000+ FPS and 1000MPs
That's not really working for me. I'm able to get nvidia-settings up, but I'm not able to activate the 640x480 screen. For me the "Separate X screen" is the only option that comes up. But there is nothing to apply and an X-restart doesn't do anything. I might just be missing something here; if so please let me know.
Hello everyone,
I want to know if there is anyway to use the HDMI (with or without sound) on my Asus 1215N with ironhide. Using optirun to launch unity make the unity works with the Nvidia but doesn't give me access to the HDMI when I plug the HDMI Cable... the screen goes black for a second and then return to the normal everytime I connect the HDMI cable.
Thank in advance, Luis Da Costa
