no display about 25% of the time on boot #172

I'm using ironhide with my Dell Latitude E6520 - it seems to have fixed all my display issues. The only problem is about 25% of the time I boot, I get a junk display - maybe some colored vertical lines towards one side of the screen, or a big gray static-looking wash that fades out. Not just X but even the terminal will not display (if I try switching via Ctrl-Alt-F1).

The odd thing is, I can usually get the display back if I put the machine to sleep and wake it back up. That seems to give something a needed kick.

I'd love to provide more detailed troubleshooting information, but I'm not sure what I can provide that would be helpful here. Please advise and I'd be happy to paste in any logs or information that would help.

I have the same issue on my Asus N53SN (Intel + Nvidia optimus) without using ironhide: sometimes after resuming from screen blanking, I get vertical lines and a black screen. I then have to wait for some time then do some Ctrl-Alt-Fx to switch between screens and it comes back again. => IMHO this has nothing to do with ironhide.
