Won't switch to nvidia and no GUI #189

I can't figure this program out at all. It was easy enough to install but the Nvidia bit doesn't seem to work and the GUI won't open. when I check the nvidia settings it says my monitor is a 1080 CRT, which leaves me with the impression that the Nvidia graphics are only being applied to the HDMI output

Ironhide sends 3d rendering commands to the Nvidia GPU for rendering to a jpg stream, which is sent to the intel gpu for display. therefore your XServer is an Intel xserver. there is a separate nvidia xserver which is used for the HDMI output, which is connected directly to your nvidia card. this is what optirun is for. ONLY USEFUL for using the HDMI output for a pure nvidia x server (aka not very useful). read the documentation
