I've just reinstalled Ubuntu 11.10 on a u36jc asus laptop. When I run glxinfo with and without optirun I see these same lines,
OpenGL vendor string: Tungsten Graphics, Inc
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ironlake Mobile
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.11
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20
and I see no improvement in performance when I run the aquarium webgl demo. But I've seen no messages suggesting a problem and my power consumption drops when nvidia isn't on.
