Fresh install and fail #203

I own Asus EEE PC 1215N with ION2. I installed new ubuntu 11.10, and this script (new kernel and some utilities) - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14502404/instalator-linux-image-headers-broadcom-v.16.4-2-atom

Then I installed ironhide via apt-get. Configuration by Nicolas Joyard and later bruciato.

First ended up with choosing manually monitor, then failed at initial test and power configuration.

I'm sending a bugreport in a second.

Ok, I'm dumb. Just forgot to reboot ;p Now I have a problem. I see when my card is on or off (power consumption raises by 2W) but I can't tell the difference in glxgears. Without optirun it gave me ~300 fps. With optirun it was first 280, then ~300-310. I don't think it should be so similar to my Intel GMA...

Also ironhide-indicator doesn't work. It's on, but I can't change whenever card is on or off, also it doesn't change (from grey) if I enable it manually. Help!

For power saving, try Bumblebee as described in http://askubuntu.com/a/36936/6969 (for upgrading, see http://wiki.bumblebee-project.org/Upgrading-on-Ubuntu). A UI/indicator is not available yet, but being developed.
