Town Spawn Causing Player Deaths #1569

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Each time a player uses /t spawn the spawn area goes up about 4 blocks,
causing them to eventually be killed by spawning. Just started today, Im not
sure why.

What is your Towny version number? :
Towny Advanced 0.82.1.0 [CB 1.4.7-r1.0]

What is your Bukkit version number? :
2624 rb for 1.4.7
What operating system? :
All
Please use pastebin.com to link the following files:
- Your full server startup from server.log,
http://pastebin.com/pJjPN58c
- Your towny config.yml,

Skipping these files is not an option. It is the easiest way to diagnose an
issue ticket properly. If you do skip this step then your ticket will most
likely be deleted and you will be asked to resubmit.

It started happening about 2 days after I changed the config. Then to udpate
the config to all worlds, I deleted the worlds data files in towny so that it
would regenrate them with the updated config. Could this have something to do
with the problem?

No that shouldn't have affected anything.

So.... you guys dont have anything to say? My whole server is based around
Towny, which is now causing nearly all my players to leave. ??????????

Found out what the issue was. You were wrong.

The changed towny config was causing the town spawns to glitch up, as well as a
few other commands I believe. This was because the new configuration settings
conflicted with existing town settings. I believe I am going to have to delete
all the current server towns. Which would be rediculous. I ran into a problem
witht he existing configuration, whcih is why it MUST change.

Is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried getting the mayors to reset their spawns with /t set spawn?

All config auto update. There is no need to delete.

So I fixed it by deleting the config, letting it regenrate to default, and
deleting world data again. I edite the settings just how I want them in the
config today, (Each time I change the town settings [Name, Tax Rate, etc.] it
was causing the problem.) It didnt cause any problems for all my users this
time, but when I use /t spawn (town) it teleports me way up in the air at the
spawn location. Its working for the rest of the users, so I am not too worried
about it, but I would still like this fixed. Thanks.

Have you tried to reset your town's spawn with /t set spawn?

Being teleported high in the air is not Towny's doing. You are using a Vanish
plugin.
