It would require both to interact. Very unlikely it would happen, unless the
writer of minimap was a towny user.

If both were to specifically interact would you be willing to add this feature?

Would love to be able to see towny chunks, even owners of plots. I understand
it takes it getting done from both sides (Towny & Minimap developers), but
could you guys at least provide the framwework so that minimap developers could
implement this?

I agree. I'm sure if one or the other added the framework and hooks, it'd
eventually be done by most major minimap creators. I understand you have lots
on your plate already (or at least I assume), but this would be a damn cool
feature. I mean, you already have it in place for dynmap, yes?

+1, I would like use it too for Towny.
Can you create a BukkitPlugin what provide the borders to the ClientSide?

Honestly whoever gets it done first gets to define the hooks or whatever
really, you don't need to "cooperate" until minimaps plan on actually reading
that data. So long as it's possible to even send data from Towny to the client,
you can do whatever the hell you want as far as what you want the minimap to
have to do in order to retrieve the data.
That's my understanding, anyways. Don't worry about interaction until they want
to interact, just make it so you /can/ get data there if something were there
to accept it in the way you specify.
