In my preferences/options I would like to turn it off and on - and have a time setting for how often it pings/checks for updates (ie. hourly, daily, weekly, etc. or time span).
When it finds that there is a new update I would like an indicator, a graphic or something. Then I can stop adding videos and channels and playlists to download and let it finish up.
After YouTube-DLG finishes I would then like to press the indicator/button to download/install/update and reboot YouTube-DLG, or whatever is necessary.
Perhaps in the preferences/options I could turn off and on another variation of the indicator that would usually say "YouTube-DLG is up to date, last checked at xxxx".
Perhaps they need say nothing at the indicator would just be a green button with a hover notice "up to date", yellow "update available but download in progress", and red "update now".
