O3D white screen of death - Mac OSX #192

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download and install for Mac OS X
2. click tools->Add-Ons->enable O3D
3. try to view any of the samples

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a graphic (Hello Square, anything).  I see a white screen.  I don't see the
message stating that I need to download/install O3D, but I also do not see
the graphic.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac OS X 10.4.11 on an intel machine, firefox 3.5.3, O3D 0.1.42.3

What hardware are you using:  graphics card type?  motherboard type?
Intel 2.4 GHz dual core single processor, 4 GB, DDR2 SDRAM.
