Overflowing the refcount of the hax KSemaphore takes longer than expected #2

Open quizque opened 7 years ago

quizque commented 7 years ago

After building and running the program, it fails to finish after about an hour and a half.

Device is a New 3DS, program was shutdown (and still running) at 00a1000

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

It really depends on where you start. Just give it a while to run.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

shouldn't take this long. entrypoint used ?

quizque commented 7 years ago

Steelhax was used as the entry point.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

hm... that's curious. is steelhax n3ds-enhanced ? at which speed is the hbl menu running ? (it is fast and smooth on n3ds, slow on o3ds)

quizque commented 7 years ago

It's running at the new clock speed(That being the HBL)

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

weird. dunno what could cause the issue, the only tip i can give you is to try again. and make sure you're not 11.2

quizque commented 7 years ago

Not on 11.2 and currently running it this time with a timer. It says 7 minuts left but it's at 00c50000

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

just wait for refcount to be 0xffffffff the left value is the left amount of calls to do

quizque commented 7 years ago

So it worked but took longer then I thought. image

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

but it did work. how long did it take ?

quizque commented 7 years ago

One hour and about 25 minutes.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

weird thing. thanks for the report, i'll see if some other people have this issue too.

quizque commented 7 years ago

-Title edited as for this is now an issue

Also no problem, I'm just getting hyped so I can start working in my homebrew game again(Once A9LH is installed).

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

just use this and stuff http://gbatemp.net/threads/working-dsiwarehax-installer-with-waithax-slowhax.452780/

quizque commented 7 years ago

Yeah I saw that, but I'm not trying to get to cocky.

quizque commented 7 years ago

I ran the DSi hoax installer and now have an accurate time for it. It took 1:09:29.06

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

that means it runs with o3ds speed

quizque commented 7 years ago

So the higher clock speed has not been implemented yet or is it a glitch?

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

it's a bug

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

Also took approx 1 hour 30 minutes on the n3ds, maybe even two hours.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

i seriously doubt it would take that long. entrypoint ?

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

ninjhax 2.0

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

The 3ds dsiware installer is taking about an hour so far.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

i got around 1h10 on o3ds speed and around 23 mins on n3ds

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

What entrypoint are you using? I'm probably gonna finish around 1 hour 10.

DrHacknik commented 7 years ago

The time for the overflow seem to take a long time; and it seems to vary, a lot. I wonder if this can be fixed? Or perhaps improved.

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

hbl_loader shouldn't make much of a difference tho

codeHusky commented 7 years ago

Through an already hacked 3ds? I think there might be something with homebrew_launcher or something. I'm using gridlauncher, which might be responsible, but I don't think that quitting out of the downgrade right now would be a good idea.

LuckyRepo commented 7 years ago

Expanding on this I had a little over 1h 40M for it last night. OOT entry running on 11.0 N3DS XL

Mrrraou commented 7 years ago

there's no way it should take this long, though. are you sure about the time ?

LuckyRepo commented 7 years ago

I could be off be 5 minutes but yes took that long. Successful when finished.
