REve server startup can hang #108

Starting REve I observe that it sometimes doesn't finish initializing. Instead I find it waiting forever for the 'run_application' thread to unlock. This seems to be random, suggesting a thread conflict/race condition problem.

No this seems to be resolved with root 6.28.
