An admin should be able to see the email address associated with a request to join as well as the email address associated with any invites. Knowing where an invite went is essential troubleshooting (did I accidentally send to MuckRock.co?) and knowing where a request is coming from is important to avoid phishing (all I can see is the name they gave; not the email address)
