I used a trash can and an office chair braced against the conference table as a makeshift mapper to define the z-axis line using SVD of several measurements. I put a reflector on the inside rim of the trash can, allowing me to fully rotate the "propeller" while taking measurements without the reflector physically interfering. Placing the trash can on the chair, I could move the chair along the edge of the table to translate the propeller along a reasonably straight path.
Script used to calculate the initial coordinate system transform from the trash can measurements.

To do a local demonstration in the IB2 meeting room, a new coordinate system needs to be setup. Determine good places to put the three reflectors and calculate the DSCS coordinates of the reference reflector positions.
