Problem statement: Blockchain for Secure File Storage

Description: Traditional file storage systems are vulnerable to hacking and data breaches, leading to concerns about data security and privacy. A blockchain-based solution could create a secure, decentralized platform for file storage that would be resistant to hacking and data breaches.

Inspiration: Recent high-profile data breaches have highlighted the need for a more secure and reliable file storage system. By using blockchain technology, we can create a more secure and trustworthy platform for file storage.

IDEA--> Cloud Storage Providers store data in servers spread across multiple geographic locations they own and manage. As a result, they wield enormous power over user data. In contrast, decentralized storage has a highly democratic approach to data management. Here anyone can join in and earn bitcoins by renting out their disk space. Decentralized storage breaks the data into small pieces through a process called sharding and then stores them in multiple computers called nodes owned by people like you and me. Once split, each file/data is provided a unique identifying number, encrypted with a private key, and distributed to independent nodes worldwide. Decentralized storage comes with a variety of benefits, including lowering costs while raising security, reliability, scalability, and data privacy.

INSPIRATION--> Blockchain started in 1991 as a way to store and secure digital data. Blockchain is an open ledger that several parties can access at once. One of its primary benefits is that the recorded information is hard to change without an agreement from all parties involved.

WHAT IT DOES--> The Decentralized Data Storage System provides High reliability, Lower costs, Increased speed, Load balancing, Fair market pricing, Increased security and privacy to the users.

How we built it (Technologies Used)--> HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Solidity, Hardhat, Pinata, IPFS, Ethereum, Metamask

What we learned--> i) Decentralization: Blockchain technology has shown us that it's possible to build decentralized systems that don't rely on a central authority to function. ii) Security: Blockchain technology has demonstrated that it's possible to build secure systems that are resistant to hacking and fraud. iii) Transparency: Blockchain technology has shown us that it's possible to build transparent systems where everyone can see what's happening. iv) Efficiency: Blockchain technology has demonstrated that it's possible to build systems that are more efficient than traditional ones. v) Innovation: Blockchain technology has sparked a wave of innovation in industries ranging from finance to healthcare to supply chain management.

Challenges we ran into--> 1) Scalability 2) Complex to understand and adopt 3) Privacy 4) Cost 5) Blockchain is still a distant dream
