OHMS integration with Mukurtu soon?! #126

Taanshi, all,

I am a Michif and am presently working on a community language revitalization/revival project in which we need to index over 50 hours of interviews with Elders. At the same time, we may need to have access permissions and connect other related digital assets to them and so want to use Mukurtu... IF Mukurtu will be able to integrate OHMS, when would likely this happen? Is it compatible for sure and the work just needs to be done? We need to make a decision on how to proceed.

Heather,

While some sort of integration with OHMS is definitely on our list, it will not be in the near future. We are on the verge of releasing a new timeline for our development efforts over the next year to year and a half and integration with OHMS is not on the list for versions 2.x and 3.x of Mukurtu. That being said there are currently ways that OHMS content can be viewed in Mukurtu but it still requires using OHMS outside of Mukurtu so access considerations will need to be handled directly within OHMS. I would love to hear your thoughts about what sorts of integration we should pursue in regards to OHMS and Mukurtu. Does that help?

Yes. I think so. I will ask about permissions inside OHMS.
If permissions are difficult to set up in OHMS, do you think there is an good way to create a CVS file that would allow us to use for both Mukurtu AND OHMS when we index/describe? What I hope is to have people able to access all recordings in Mukurtu directly with permissions (some with none) and those without permissions could just have links to OHMS, maybe?

I’ll ask the same of the OHMS folks...

Regardless, on our side, we need to get on this right away!
